HTML Receipts
In previous versions we were running reports and attaching them to email as PDFs on the receipt page of the various wizards. Due to the limitations of CRM Online and as a general best practice other websites use we eliminated the attachment of the reports in favor of embedding the HTML from the receipt page into an email. These receipts have been added to the following processes.
- Meeting Registration Receipt (Registration)
- Edit Meeting Registration Receipt (Meeting Registration)
- Cancel Meeting Registration Receipt (Meeting Registration)
- Class Registration Receipt (Class Registration)
- Sales Order Payment Receipt (Payment)
- Store Payment Receipt (Payment)
- Membership Application Receipt (Membership Application)
- Membership Renewal Receipt (Dues Item)
- Committee Nomination Confirmation (Nomination)
- Volunteer Confirmation (Contact)
- Subscription Receipt
- Initial Certification Application Receipt (Application)
- Continuing Certification Application Receipt (Application)

New CRM Entity
A new entity was added to the Core solution called “cobalt_receipt”. The Receipt record is created at the end of the processes listed above. This is an activity type entity and does not actually create or send an email.
Send Receipt Email Workflow
A workflow has been added to the Core solution called “Send Receipt Email” that will run on create of a Receipt record or on demand from the record.
Excel Template Reports
To adapt to the requirements of CRM Online, we are leveraging the new Document Template functionality in CRM 2016. We have recreated our existing Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports using Excel Templates. The goal is to provide the same information using Excel Pivot Tables and Charts but not necessarily using the same presentation as the old reports.
