Cobalt is pleased to announce that The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) has chosen Cobalt as its technology partner to implement a new customer management system. ASE will utilize the Cobalt Certification Management Suite, a robust certification and customer relationship management system which was built from the ground-up with complete web integration and collaboration in mind.
Headquartered in Leesburg, VA, ASE (www.ase.com) was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians. Today, ASE offers over 50 test titles and issues certifications in 12 different categories, testing more than 200,000 examinees annually. There are currently about 400,000 ASE-certified professionals at work across the country in all areas of the automotive service industry.
ASE was looking to put in place a new customer management system that would increase the value of ASE’s programs for all its customers and partners. The new system had to be built on easily supported technologies that capitalized on the advantages of integration, centralization of data and member self-service. This new system also had to provide an easily accessible interface for entering data and tracking all certification information, customer service requests and program management tasks. In order to be most efficient, this system had to integrate with ASE’s web sites using a robust content management system and provide online customer-service tools to a broad range of user types. This unified solution would enable staff to have a complete view of customer interactions to provide superior service and build strong relationships with ASE’s constituents. It would also enable ASE’s partners the secure access to information they require.
With the guidance of consultants from The Caviart Group (www.thecaviartgroup.com), ASE evaluated the qualifications of several large association management technology companies and then weighed the functionality of each of their product offerings. After careful consideration, ASE selected Cobalt for the project based on demonstrated technical capabilities, the strength of Cobalt’s proposed solution built on the Certification Management Suite and Cobalt’s deep understanding of the specialized needs of certification programs.
